Shirley was born on

to Hannah (Bodine) & Alexander McLeod. Shirley graduated from
East
High School
in
Superior
in 1946. She completed
Beauty
School
but found that she preferred
waitressing at the Federal Bakery. In 1949 she married her Sea Bees sweetheart, Marvin Sauers. As a young adult, she committed her life to Jesus Christ and used her talents to serve others. She had a beautiful alto voice & enjoyed singing gospel music.
Shirley & Marvin raised their 4 children in
Bagley
,
MN
where they attended the Congregational Church. She worked many years as a teacher’s aide at the
Bagley
Elem.
School
and she and Marvin owned the Bagley King Koin Laundromat.
In 1979 they moved to
St. Paul Park
,
MN
. They were active members of The Harbor Church in
Hastings
, volunteering in many areas of the church. In the 1980’s Shirley worked part-time for the 3M Company. Her special joys in life were helping others and homemaking.
She is survived by her children Marvin “Chip” (Gloria), Jeanette (Roger) Lee, Gary (Kari), and Mark; grandchildren
Minsan, Maselan, Paris, Aeron, Ryan, Matt, Beth, Emaly, Quinn, Rhiannon, Sarah; great-grandchildren Clarisse, Duncan, William, Jeremiah, Zachariah, Mara, Haley, Lexi, Marin, Jackson, Reice, Addyson, Gavin, Jaystin, many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Marvin; her parents, sisters Alice,
