Stephen Arthur Swan

Stephen Arthur Swan, age 74, of Cottage Grove, passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at his home.

Steve was born on October 13, 1948 in Duluth, MN to Lawrence and Joyce (Nordal) Swan. He graduated from Duluth Central High School in 1967 and was united in marriage to Roberta Wiesen on June 30, 1973. The couple lived in the Como Park area before settling in Cottage Grove in 1976. Steve worked for the US Bureau of Mines for 25 years before retiring in 1998. Steve was only retired for 2 years before going back to work at Home Depot for 12 years. Steve enjoyed reading, gardening in his younger years, and was an avid listener of Vietnam Veteran Radio; where he found camaraderie with Vets from all over the country.

He is survived by his children, Danielle, and Christopher (Amanda); grandchildren, Michael (Nick), Cora, Dylan, Neela, and Adam; siblings, Colleen (Dana), and Scott (Debra); and nieces and nephews, Jennifer (Alexander), Natalee, Jeremy (Breezy), and Jonas (Sarah).

Steve was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta “Bobbie”; and his parents.

A private burial will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
