Thomas Opatz

Thomas Frank Opatz, age 71, of St. Paul Park , passed away Thursday December 3, 2009 at United Hospital in St. Paul .

Thomas was born December 17, 19 37 in South Saint Paul , MN the son of Frank and Polly Opatz. He grew up in St. Paul Park , MN and attended school at Park High School .

On October 29, 19 60, Thomas married his wife Barbara Lowrie. Together they had one daughter, Alana.

Thomas was a devoted husband and family man. He was also a hard worker, working for over 30 years for Univac and Lockheed Martin. He enjoyed playing cards every chance he could. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Thomas is survived by his loving wife of 49 years Barbara; daughter Alana (Roger Shorter) Nelson; grandchildren Jereme, Christopher, Matthew; and great-grandson Damian. Also survived by his brother Thaddeus Opatz; sisters Audrey Perkins, Laverne (Edward) Leithhauser; and many other family and friends.
