Tom Anderson

Thomas W. Anderson, age 72, of Hastings, MN passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 7, 2026 after a long struggle with chronic pain and Alzheimer's. Tom worked many years in the office at Metro Gravel in Newport with his close childhood friends. 

Preceded in death by parents, Leo and Margaretha; sister, Kitty; beloved aunts, Dor and Kay. Survived by devoted wife of 42 years, Shirley (nee McCauley); son, Andrew (Tara) Darst; cherished grandchildren, Ian and Lana; brother, Tim; nieces, nephews; as well as countless other loving family and friends. 

Celebration of life 11:30 AM with visitation beginning at 10 AM, Thursday, November 12, 2026 at Kok Funeral Home, 1201 Portland Ave., St. Paul Park, MN 55071. Interment to follow at Newport Cemetery, Newport, MN. All are encouraged to wear a flannel shirt in Tom's memory. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association .
