Tom Steil, age 82, of Cottage Grove, MN, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 25, 2026, at home with family at his side. He was born March 1, 1944 in Albert Lea, MN.
Preceding him in death, wife Karel; parents, Leland and Gretchen (Johnston); sister, Sue Strand; brother, Greg. He is survived by children Eric, Julie (Stephen Bien), and Kory (Gwen); brother, Lyman (Manny) Steil; and grandchildren, Keisha, Karoline, Rhyan, Sam, Toni, and Reese.
Casual gathering of family and friends, 1-3 PM with an open mic beginning at 1:30 PM, Saturday, October 10, 2026 at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 80th St. S., Cottage Grove, MN 55016. All are welcome to share memories during the open mic time. You may join family at All Saints Lutheran Church to place his remains at 3:15 PM into the columbarium.
