William Paul Grass Jr.

William "Bill" Grass Jr. age 67, of Cottage Grove, Minnesota passed away on May 17, 2026.

A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 80th Street S., Cottage Grove, MN with visitation prior to service from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

Bill was born August 29, 1958, in St. Paul, MN to William Grass Sr. and Joan (Fisher) Grass.  He grew up in Maplewood, MN and graduated from Tartan High School in 1977.

Bill was united in marriage to Dawn Pervin on May 25, 1979.  They lived in St. Paul, MN for a short time before moving to Cottage Grove, MN in 1981 where they became lifelong residents raising their four children.

Bill worked for the South Washington County School District for over 30 years working in custodial and building maintenance.  He left lasting impressions on all that crossed paths with him.

Many will forever remember Bill for his lifelong love and passion for cars and his white 1964 Impala.  Others will remember Bill for his generosity, deep selflessness, big heart, and larger-than-life personality.  Bill welcomed everyone with open arms.

Bill's number one priority was his family and loved ones.  Being a grandpa was the highlight of his life.

Bill is survived by his girlfriend Jonyvette Gilbert; children Nicole (Al) Hicks, Jessica (Dale) Spears, Shane Grass, Cassaundra (Nick) Jones; grandchildren Matteo (20), Piper (20), Gabriel (18), Jersey (17), Wyatt (15), Everlynn (11), Susan (10), McKinley (8), Dominick (5), Oleander (3), and Finnegan (1); siblings Deb Ness, Karen (Bob) Lee and Jim Grass and many nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his loving wife Dawn Grass; father William Grass Sr.; mother Joan Grass; granddaughter Vaida Rose Grass and brother-in-law, Brian Ness.
