William "Bob" Werner

William Robert “Bob” Werner, age 92, of Cottage Grove was born September 10, 1925 in Lime Creek, Minnesota and passed away on February 23, 2018 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Preceded in death by son, Billy; parents, William and Anna; sister, Betty (Louis) Bremer; in-laws, Albert and Rena Johnson, Ray (Gert) Johnson, Lois (Reinhart) Bruns, Arlene (Herb) Kitto, Merl (Tillie) Johnson, Kenneth Johnson, Dale (Diane) Johnson; many nieces, nephews, and friends. Survived by wife of 70 years, Norma Jean “Jeannie”; children, Nancy (Ron) Knutson, Susan Werner, Dan (Lugene) Werner, and Kelly (Mike) Waldo; grandchildren, Mandy Dailey (Christopher Pulliams), Darin (Jamie) Waldo, Dean (Meredith) Knutson, Steve (Krysta) Werner, Molly Knutson, Clare (Cory) Miller, Krissie (Tim) Thrush, and Marty Knutson; thirteen great grandchildren; sister, Mary Ann (Dave) Smith; sister-in-law, Delores Johnson; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

A very special THANK YOU to all the staff at the SCI Center at the Minneapolis VA, who gave Bob such great care over the years and without whom, he would not have enjoyed the many extra years they gave him.

Visitation 4-7 PM, Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 80th St. S., Cottage Grove, MN, 55016 and continues at 10 AM, Thursday at the church. Funeral Service 11 AM, Thursday, March 1, 2018 at All Saints Lutheran Church, 8100 Belden Blvd., Cottage Grove, MN, 55016. Interment with military honors to follow at Riverview Cemetery.
