Jeanne Marie Susla-Smith, 64, of Cottage Grove, MN, passed away on January 31st, 2021. She was loved and a special presence in the lives of so many. Jeanne was born on July 2nd, 1956 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Pearl and Anthony Susla. She grew up in St. Paul and Cottage Grove to working class folks that loved her very much. She always enjoyed helping others, shopping, and meeting new people. Eventually she met Paul Smith through friends and married in 1977. They had three beautiful children together- Ben, Ryan, and Stacy. Jeanne put her whole life into raising & loving her children and granddaughter, learning for the sake of learning, helping others in need, and providing a loving and pleasant home to enjoy her days. Jeanne enjoyed collecting her many collections, hosting and enjoying family dinners, game nights with scrabble and puzzles, and staying up to date with current events by watching and reading the news. She also enjoyed a good dessert and sentimental trinkets.

Jeanne is preceded in death by her parents, Pearl (Van Pelt) Susla and Anthony Susla; brother, Michael Susla. Survived by her sisters, Barb (Mark) Erickson and Mary Susla Beaver;  brother, Richard Susla; children, Benjamin (Laurel) Smith, Ryan (Abigail) Smith and Stacy (Justin) Donley  and granddaughter, Olive Donley.
