Lucille Elsie (Schmidt) Levers
October 13, 1928 - May 13, 2020

Lucille Elsie (Schmidt) Levers, age 91 of Cottage Grove, MN, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at Norris Square in Cottage Grove, MN.

She was born in Rock Township, Mitchell County, IA to Arthur and Myrtle Schmidt.  In 1946 she graduated from St. Ansgar High School.  Lucille was married to Richard Levers of Osage IA on September 24, 1950.  They lived in Osage until moving to Cottage Grove, MN in 1961.  Lucille worked at St. Luke’s Hospital during the 1970s.  She was very active with the VFW Post 8752 serving as an Auxiliary President and was a charter member of Zion Lutheran Church.  She enjoyed camping, vacationing and gardening with her family.

Lucille is survived by 4 children Jerry (Maria), Janelle, Judy (Scott) Alverson, Jill (Kurtis) TeGantvoort, 12 grandchildren Dante’ (Nicole) Corine (Cory), Doug (Emily), Nick, Nathan, Cassie (Geno) Cali (Nate) Cori (Shawn) CJ (Danielle) Tony, Paige and Ashley. 16 Great Grandchildren Autumn, Alex, Bella, Henli, Haden, Danny, Natalie, Caroline, Zoey, Carmen, Chloe, Geno, Aubree, Audrina, Adeline and Everly.  She is preceded in death by her husband Richard of 34 years, daughter Julianne, parents Arthur and Myrtle, brother Luther and infant sister.

A private service will be held Monday May 18, 2020 at Kok Funeral Home in Cottage Grove and the interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery alongside her husband Richard a World War II Vet.

A special thank you to the staff at Norris Square who took such loving care of her over the years.
